We are recruiting for multiple Trail Guide positions for 2025, casual, seasonal contract and/or full-time for the right candidates.

The Role
Are you a passionate hiker with a deep curiosity for nature? Do you thrive on helping others step out of their comfort zone whilst also ensuring the best hospitality?
We are seeking experienced Guides with a love of nature, who appreciate a positive team environment and are familiar with the expectations of multi-day tours.
You and your co-Guide will lead small groups along the Spicers Scenic Rim Trail located just 1.5hrs from Brisbane.
You will guide guests through World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest during the day and stay at luxe off-grid accommodation at night where you will assemble chef curated meals and host your guests each evening.

You will be responsible for guiding participants safely through rugged terrain, providing educational insights along the way and ensuring a memorable and enriching experience for all.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Lead multi-day hiking tours, ranging from 2 to 6 days;
- Deliver accurate and engaging interpretations on a range of topics from flora and fauna, conservation and the area’s rich history;
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by assessing trail conditions, monitoring weather forecasts, and implementing appropriate safety protocols;
- Demonstrate proficiency in wilderness navigation, first aid, and emergency response procedures;
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the hiking group, while encouraging camaraderie and teamwork;
- Maintain a high standard of customer service, resolving any issues or concerns promptly and professionally;
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless coordination of logistics, including meal preparation and cooking, camp setup, and transportation.
This is how you’ll know you’re right for this role …
- 3+ yrs experience as a multi-day hiking guide or similar experience;
- Physical fitness to hike long distances with a backpack over varied terrain;
- Extensive outdoors experience & ability to lead groups safely;
- Knowledge of ecosystems, flora/fauna and cultural heritage;
- Personal commitment to ongoing learning and developing interpretation ‘interp’;
- Passionate about guest experience & inspiring others;
- Competent in all aspects of guiding, including safety, hospitality & storytelling & versatility;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills;
- Ability to cook meals that have been pre-prepared by chefs, training provided;
- Current Wilderness First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to starting;
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Food Safety Certificate are essential;
- Light Rigid Licence and Drivers Authority or commitment to obtain prior to starting;
- 4wd experience highly desirable;
- Valid manual driver’s licence;
- Reliable personal vehicle for commuting to and from work.
