Hiking in QLD in winter
Winter hiking in Queensland is idyllic but don’t be caught out by the cold. In our packing guides we include recommendations for winter woolies but often find guests are underprepared as they are expecting warm coastal Queensland weather during the day and overnight.
Our recommendation is to come prepared and bring layers so that if you need to warm up or cool down you can.
The average day time temperature during winter is a lovely 20 degrees and humidity is at a year-round low however overnight temperatures average at 4 degrees. With that swing of temperature from day to night all you need to do is be prepared and follow our recommended packing list:
Winter packing list
- Gloves
- Beanie
- Lightweight scarf or neck gaiter
- Thermals
- Fleece jumper
- Warm insulated jacket (puffer or similar)
- Winter pyjamas & bed socks
This is in addition to the standard packing list.
